Doug Maddox (Director, Producer, UPM)
Douglas B. Maddox founded DBM Communications, Inc. in 1990 with a vision to provide full-service communications to his clients. His years of experience have grown from his work as owner, project manager, art director, producer, director, and entrepreneur in corporate, non-profit, and entertainment industries. Maddox's teaching and mentoring as an adjunct professor at Towson University for seven and a half years has also served in growing his experience.

Douglas B. Maddox has earned more than 25 Telly, Communicator, Videographer, Crown, and Aurora awards. Maddox was inducted into the Producers' Guild of America in July 2007, where he now holds the position of Chair Emeritus after founding the National Capital Chapter. He was honored with the Marc A. Levy distinguished service award in 2011.

His latest work in the entertainment industry celebrated the release of Christmas Ranch airing on Showtime and Netflix. Maddox Develops, produces, and distributes award-winning films including Elvis Home Movies (Elvis Presley), The Rack Pack (C. Thomas Howell), The Bill Collector (Danny Trejo), Undaunted (Josh McDowell), Christmas Ranch (Francine Locke, Taylor Lyons, and Allen Williamson), and Hope's Legacy (Dyan Cannon).

Steven Shulgach — Cinematographer
Steven Shulgach grew up surrounded by artists in his family, and began his career in film through his love for visual effects and animation at age 14. With over 10 years experience in camera work, starting in award winning visuals in student films, Steven's cinematic eye can be seen in narrative work including features, episodic series, and short films. He and his wife, Gabriela Kostadinova, live in Los Angeles and continuously collaborate to create outstanding and inspirational work together, utilizing their passion of the visual arts to tell moving stories from the heart.
 
Over the last 5 years, Steven has worked in a variety of capacities in the camera department across a broad range of television and feature sets. His best known Director of Photography credits include feature films First Lady (2020), starring Corbin Bernsen and Nancy Stafford, soon to release Juniper (2021), and of course Cream of The Crop (2022) starring Ben Davies and Brittany Goodwin. On every collaboration, Steven reassures the project's vision maintains it's creative integrity throughout production.

JoAnn Dawson — Writer

JoAnn is the award winning author of the Lucky Foot Stable Series, a five book series  for ages 8-13 chronicling the  adventures of two  lively girls and their horses. In 2017 she released her book Bed, Breakfast & Beyond: Twenty Years of Kooky Guests, Gentle Ghosts, and Horses in BetweenIn this entertaining and enlightening  memoir (recent winner of a Reader's Choice Award for non-fiction humor) JoAnn writes of her lifelong dream of owning a bed & breakfast.  To fulfill that dream, in 1998 she and husband Ted purchased Fairwinds Farm, a 52 acre horse farm in Cecil County, Maryland. In 2018, Fairwinds Farm served as one of the locations for the film Hope’s Legacy with Dyan Cannon.  At the completion of the film, JoAnn submitted her script Cream of the Crop to the director, Doug Maddox.  Doug agreed to take the helm, assembling a stellar cast and crew. The film was shot at eight locations in Cecil County in the summer of 2021. 

 

JoAnn is currently writing another book, as yet untitled, chronicling her adventures as an animal wrangler for TV and film.  She is eagerly awaiting the release of Cream of the Crop in 2022!

Greg Ressetar — Gaffer

Greg has been working in the industry for over 30 years, working as 1st AC, Gaffer, and DP. Starting out in 35mm and 16mm film for commercial and corporate clients, he has traveled around the world for projects. He has also worked on dozens of features, documentaries and short films throughout the years and continues to learn new skills as the film industry is an art and art is always evolving.

Jeremy A. Stone — Sound

Jeremy A. Stone is a Production Sound Mixer, Audio Supervisor, and Master of Awesome for Television and Film with over 20 years of experience in Sound. With a desire for sonic excellence, Stone constantly researches new equipment and techniques, keeping his knowledge and enthusiasm for sound recording at the highest level.


Stone’s career has led him to projects in Africa, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, Italy, Jamaica, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, The Bahamas, and nearly all 50 U.S. States, including long term projects in Alaska and Hawaii. Currently he utilizes microphones from DPA, Schoeps, and Sanken to capture sound, however his smile and positive attitude are the most requested part of his kit. “If we aren’t having a good time we are doing it all wrong!”


Currently, Stone resides in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with his wife and two daughters, where he relishes the constant upkeep of an 1882 Victorian era home.

Georgia Barchowsky — Wardrobe

Georgia Barchowsky is a long-time local of Cecil County, MD. She lives and works on an operating farm and has been riding and caring for horses since she was 2. Now 20 years old, Barchowsky is studying at Loyola University for a BA in Political Science with a minor in Business Information Systems. In high school, she gained experience in both acting and stage management, but she always hoped to become involved on a film set one day. When she met Doug at the premiere for Hope’s Legacy in 2020, he offered her the opportunity and she couldn’t be happier to have worked with him and his crew.
